Cherished Memories of Sweet Kinsley

So, I will admit, I was dying to get newborn photos taken of Kinsley, I knew that I would, I also knew prime photo time is between the first 7-10 days of birth. That being said…did I book the shoot in advance…nope! So I found myself returning from the hospital FREAKING out…after all we WERE on a timeline and she was already 4 days old!!!! So I had to act quickly…what was I thinking not booking this in advance…but of course I thought well how can you book it in advance if you don’t know when you will deliver…but then again they are probably flexible with you and more willing to work with you if you already have something scheduled right? I began searching to find someone who could capture the quality we wanted but also seemed to have a knack and natural talent for working with newborns…at last we stumbled upon Cherished Memories (among a few others whose dates available fell after she would be 2 weeks old). The photographer from Cherished Memories, Melissa, called me soon after receiving my email with glorious news! She had planned to go out of town Memorial Day weekend so therefore didn’t book any shoots, but changed her mind so she had May 25th available (my dad’s birthday…perfect)! We were sooooo excited, as we loved her work and after talking with her I fell in love with her, little did I know what a true blessing we had stumbled upon! It turns out she was a teacher, a special ed teacher for years before becoming a photographer AND was a drill team dancer, now a stay at home mommy turned photographer…oh the things we have in common! She has such a talent for working with newborns! Anyone who thinks working with newborns and doing those shoots is easy, has no idea! A newborn shoot in itself wears you right out!

We got there at 10:30am, fed our sweet, little 10 day old love, Kinsley, and began the shoot! She keeps the temp in the room around 80 degrees to keep the little ones comfortable, malleable, and poseable! By 3:15pm we were finally finished capturing all of the amazingness! We were up and down, feeding in between sets to keep her sleepy, and by the end we were ALL exhausted! Melissa knew just how to pose her, hold her, soothe her, and when to capture those hidden newbie smiles! She has unmatchable patience and a calm sense about her that is so admirable! Her talent is incomparable and we feel so blessed to have stumbled upon her by way of Google to capture our sweet little lady in the first days of her life in all of her beauty! She truly captured who our sweet Kinsley truly is and because of her that memory will stay fresh not only in our hearts, but in our photos forever! I so recommend anyone to head her way for newborn photos! She has a studio here in Keller out of her home, and has TONS of props where all you do is bring the baby (or some special items like we did if you have them)! I had some special items I brought, and then wanted to go with a gray and yellow theme with lots of the pics to match her nursery and create a collage on the wall…speaking of collage….not only did Melissa help create fabulous shots and ways to work in the gray and yellow…she also used a super cool app that takes a picture of the wall and puts photos to scale on the wall to see how they will look size wise and such. Thanks to her super cool app, we were able to see what kind of collage we could create virtually before printing anything! Loved this…check out our virtual image of what the wall will look like once the photos are up. (although we may do 8x10s to help ease the frame matching and such) How cool is that? Sooooo something that helps a visual person like me!

We are truly blessed with so many friends and family who love us so dearly...I could not ask for anything more! Knowing that our sweet Kinsley has entered into this world where so many people love and adore her warms my heart to the fullest! We were blessed with visitors, gifts, and food, food, and more food! We cannot say thank you enough to all of our incredible friends and family who made this experience so incredible and helped in any way possible! We are so thankful to everyone who was a part of this experience!

Sweet Peyton and Tiffany anxiously awaited her arrival! Peyton called Jeff as soon as he was back in town to make sure he didn't miss her big debut!

Matt, Emerson, and Holly came by to meet our sweetness and Emerson had so much fun with 'Baby K'!
Kinsley met her Great Grandfather Papa Kiss at a little over 2 weeks old and her cousin Korbin came along for the fun! Great Grandpa was so proud and introduced her to each member of the church as he stood at the front! "This is Kinsley Elizabeth Kiss and she is 16 days old, that is her mother and her father" he would say to each person who came along with a smile...it was the cutest sight to watch him so eager to introduce her!

Grandpa Kevin was rather proud himself to have his 2 grandkiddos together for the first time!
Grandpa Kevin, the Kiss brothers, and their babies!
We then introduced Kinsley to Gigi, her other great grandmother...Kinsley is quite the lucky lady! She has 5 great grandmothers!!!

Uncle Chet and Aunt Katie spoil Kinsley with the cutest of clothes...I thought it was only fair to put her in those fancy clothes and take a picture with them to capture the utter cuteness!

Here is a peek at some of the super sweet gifts we were showered with (of course I couldn't get everything in the picture) but we were thankful for all of the special gifts...
Ummm...pretty sure my most favorite...it is a pic of me with Chet and Katie at their wedding when I was pregnant with Kinsley...they both wanted to take a 'Kinsley pic' and didn't even know they both asked me to...once they saw them they decided to frame them side by side for me....LOVE!
Of course...Kinsley's first pair of Converse have to come
from Aunt Katie and Uncle Chet
Sweet mini roses and special sheep from Wayne and Janna
Sweet flowers and Birthday balloon from
Uncle Jeremy, Aunt Rachelle & Korbin
Aunt Katie got super crafty and made
a super cute wreath for the hospital
(and Kinsley's room...love me some

Our blessing is crystal clear in all of these pictures, and the love surely shines brightly through!
